If you find yourself or your loved one in assisted living, senior care or a nursing home, these suggestions may help.

Connect Socially—you can never have too many friends. When you find yourself in an alternative setting there are services available that you need and yet there are obstacles. We will help you overcome the obstacles. Making new friends is something to strive for. Some suggestions to make this easier:

* When you meet someone new introduce yourself

* Participate in activities that are offered

* Utilize the common spaces

* Talk to others and listen

Families, when you visit, help your loved one connect with others

* Bring them into the common areas and take them to the activities

* Sit with other seniors and help with the conversation

* Get to know and appreciate the staff and ask their help

When you can’t be there we will. Special Occasion Services will help seniors to adjust and stay connected.

Family Members take note of these resources for Seniors in the Duval and St. John’s County. You may want to arrange a “FIELD TRIP” with your loved one. Check the schedule before you go there!
